...followed in the path of #63 turning in a nice performance on both birds and the blind.

Sabre had excellent marks and an excellent blind.

62. BIGGUN'S WILD ROSE WARRIOR MH
...the flyer was very nice, on the left-hand bird, she stayed right, made a quick turn and went out and got the bird...she finished with a nice blind. The wind is picking up at the moment, and blowing left to right across the test.
61. AFC IN THE HUNT FARM'S EXECUTIVE SWEET
...she had a hunt on the flyer, a small hunt on the right bird and completed the blind.
The blind...
Handlers are still having difficulty at the end of the blind, the wind is continually shifting and it is very challenging.
60. FC-AFC WIDGEON'S CARBON CHIP
...the flyer was nice, the left-hand bird was very nice and he completed the blind.
59. AFC ROCKYTOP'S GIVE UP THE FUNK
...had a hunt on the flyer, stayed left, got deep and got the bird on the left-hand. Had a challenging end to the blind but got the bird.

...had a small hunt on both birds and completed the blind.
The wind has totally died...it is as still as a mouse down near the line.
After two more dogs there will be a gun change.

...the flyer was nice, the left-hand bird was excellent with a very nice blind.
We have had a total wind shift. It is now blowing towards the handlers face, yet still a little left to right...

...had a hunt on the flyer, she had a small hunt on the left-hand bird and a nice blind.

...the flyer was a nice job, he took a small loop to get the second bird and completed the blind.

54. AFC SMACKWATER'S STAR CATCHER MH
...the flyer was okay, on the left-hand bird, he hunted the area around the gunners and went back and picked up the bird and they finished the blind.
53. FC-AFC LIL CHIN MUSIC
...had a hunt on the flyer, a hunt on the left-hand bird and completed the blind. The wind is steadily picking up at the line...

...the sun is now full-on, the temperatures are rising and the gallery is smiling!

...the flyer was excellent - on the left-hand bird, he went to the right of the blind, came back, and picked up the bird quickly. completed the blind.

...small hunt on the flyer, handled on the left-hand bird and a nice blind.
50. BOB AND ED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE
...the flyer was very nice, the second bird he stayed just left, cut in and picked it up quickly...and completed the blind.
49. AFC DOMINATOR'S HIGH SPADE
...had a small hunt on the flyer, he was right of the blind on the left-hand bird, made a very quick turn and picked it up...and he has completed the blind.
Weather...
The sun is about to break through the clouds at any time...the blue skies in the west are growing towards us as the winds grow...then die....then grow and sustain. It's very comfortable and it looks as if the dogs are happy.
48. FC-AFC BIG ALFONSE CAPONE OF MO-KAN
...the flyer was good, the left-hand bird, the dog went left of the blind, had a small hunt and found the bird. During the blind there was a little trouble at the end of the bird.
47. REBEL RIDGE COSMIC RISE ‘N FALL
...had a nice flyer, on the left-hand bird he hunted the right side, went deep, but came back around and found the bird and he completed the blind.
46. AFC FERN COBBLE'S JEZEBEL
...had a small hunt on the flyer, came in right of the holding blind on the left-hand bird, but made a quick turn and got it...and finished with a nice blind.
Note on the blind...
This blind is tough and dicey. The line through the trees is proving challenging for the handlers.
45. WESTSHORE BUDDY
...had an excellent flyer, a small hunt on the left-hand bird and lined the blind.
44. AFC KIMBER VIII
...the flyer was good, there was a hunt on the left-hand bird and worked their way through the blind.
43. FC-AFC CITORI’S ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTE
...the flyer was okay, the left-hand bird was very nice and finished with a nice blind.
42. AFC UN PETIT PEU CANAILLE
...flyer was excellent. The left-hand bird came in right of the holding blind with a small hunt and then completed blind.
The wind has calmed...
...it is very light now, from left-to-right out of the southwest. The clouds are beginning to break as blue skies are visible in the west. Temperatures remain cooler as most in the gallery continue to wear their jackets and sweatshirts.
EDIT: The wind has begun to pick-up slightly.
41. FC-AFC CAMINO WEIGHT CUTTER MH
...had a good flyer, small hunt on the left-hand bird and an excellent blind.
Gun Change...
Now we have taken timeout for a gun change, while the next group of handlers go to view the line.

...is the youngest dog in the 2012 NARC - he had a very nice flyer, a hunt on the left-hand bird and completed the blind.

...had a nice flyer, a hunt on the left-hand bird and an excellent blind.

...had a nice flyer, a very nice left-hand bird and has completed the blind.

...had a small hunt on the flyer and an excellent left-hand bird...got the blind.

...did a nice job on the flyer, had hunt on the left bird and
small problems at the end of the blind, but got it.
32. FC-AFC CANDLEWOOD GOLDENDAZE LOUIE
...did a nice job on the flyer, a hunt on the left-hand
bird and very nice blind.
31. FC-AFC DIXIE CITY JAM II
...did a nice job on the flyer. He had difficulty on the
left-hand bird with a large hunt before coming up with the bird. It was a
beautiful blind with only two whistles towards the end.
30. AFC SKYWATCH BRONCO
...has just completed a very nice run. Good job on the
flyer, stayed left of the trees on the left-hand bird and three whistled the
blind.
NOTE about the grounds/set up...
The spruce trees, mentioned in the test description that are causing some dogs to go
right of the holding blind on the left-hand bird, are actually live trees staked
into the ground by the grounds committee…enhanced features for this combo test.
29. AFC TRUMARC'S HOLLANDAISE
...got the flyer clean, did a very nice job on the
left-hand bird and has completed the blind.
28. FC-AFC BAYOU TECHE EYE ON THE BALL
...had a very nice job on the flyer, he also stayed
left of the trees on the left-hand bird, got it nicely…and has completed the
blind.
27. YAKITY’S SHAKE RATTLE ‘N’ ROLL
...did a nice job on the flyer, hunted up the middle bird and
completed the blind.
26. LAKE PARK DIAMOND IN THE RUFF
...has done a nice job on the flyer, picked up the left
bird and completed the blind.

...picked up the flyer, very nice job on the left-hand
bird…got the blind
24. AFC DUCKBLIND'S REAL MCCOY
Charlie has gotten both birds and then had a one-whistle blind.

...nice job on the flyer, excellent left-hand bird, 5
whistles to the blind.
22. UPON THE WINGS OF AN ANSWERED PRAYER
...straight to the flyer – nailed it! Picked up both
birds and had an excellent blind with only three whistles.
21. FC-AFC CALCULATED RISK, LM
...did a nice job on the flyer picked up the left-hand
bird and six-whistled the blind with a nice line.

1st and 2nd Series - Double with a Blind

The 1 st series combo is a double with a blind.
The mat sits on the right side of a mound. The first bird is thrown right to
left and then retired behind a small grove of trees and bushes, about 150 yards
from the line. The flyer is shot left to right at approximately 175 yards
riding the pheasant out for a long beautiful bird. After both birds are
retrieved, the judges call for the blind planter to “plant the blind” as the
running dog is returning with the last bird.
The line to the first bird down is to the left of some
spruce trees that are spaced out but in a rough line to the holding blind. This
seems to have pushed both test dogs to the right and away from the bird.
The blind is planted 350 yards from the line between the two
marks. The dog runs through a row of pine trees to the front of a brush pile.
Test dog, FC Ranger’s Black Bart, LM, Marsha
McGee, had a nice flyer. On the left-hand bird he made a loop on the right side
of the retired guns before moving to the correct side and retrieving the bird.
A very nice blind.

The second test dog, MS Micro Doodle
Dandy, LF, Tom Bogusky, did a very nice job on the flyer…straight to it. On the
left-hand bird, she hunted deep and right but recovered and came back and
worked it out.
The test is running about 6 minutes per dog...

UPDATE!
As of 4:30 a.m. this morning, the skies were open and the rain was
coming down in sheets. The farmers in the area were probably a little
more excited to get a visit from these full clouds, but the NARC
community was a little less enthusiastic.
BUT, the rain
has since subsided (for now), the skies are overcast, the winds are
slight but gusty, the temps are in the mid-60's and the grounds,
gunners, and contestants are very busy.
