20. FC-AFC SHADOWS SWEET SOMETHING



...did a very nice job on the flyer...she had a very quick pick up on the left-hand bird and only two whistles on the blind.

Tests 1 and 2 are in the books at 7:57 p.m.

Callbacks will be given in the lobby at the headquarters hotel.

 


19. FC-AFC WORLD FAMOUS ROSA BARKS




Very short flyer with a very small hunt, excellent line to the left-hand bird, that missed the bird, but only a very short hunt...wonderful blind with only two whistles.

 


18. AFC WINDY CITY’S MIGHTY MOUSE



...had a very big hunt on the flyer. He took a nice line to the left-hand bird and had an excellent three-whistle blind.

 


17. FC-AFC ROBBERS' STRAY BULLET

...the flyer was a very nice mark...on the left-hand bird, he went down the right side, came up the left and went straight to the bird...ended with a nice blind.

 


16. JAYBAR AMERICAN IDOL




...had the shortest flyer of the day, and smacked it! On the left-hand bird, he went to the end of the cover, hiding the gunners, to the right over to the bird...ended with a very nice blind.

 


15. FC-AFC LOW COUNTRY PORKY

...had a short flyer and did a very good job with it. Had an excellent left-hand bird and four whistles on a great blind.

 


14. AFC WATERMARK’S SHADOW DANCER

...he went deep and back to the mound and got his bird...very, very nice second bird and an excellent blind.

After he finished, the gallery sang Happy Birthday to handler Charlie Hays...happy birthday, Charlie!

13. AFC TEXAS TROUBADOR

The flyer was a short bird and he had to hunt back to it. On the second bird, he stayed left, circled the blind, and went directly to the bird. He finished with an excellent blind, four whistles.

 


12. AFC COOLWATER'S KNOCKOUT

This dog had a long flyer behind the mound and did an excellent job retrieving it. The left-hand bird was also done with excellence. His blind was only four whistles.

 


11. FC-AFC WESTWOODS IRON MAN

...put together three beautiful birds...the marks were great, staying on the correct side of the guns...he had only two whistles on the blind.

 


10. FC-AFC SEASIDE'S PELICAN PETE



Nice job on the flyer...on the second bird, kept him right to the end but worked back quickly to the bird. Excellent blind.

 


9. FC-AFC WOLF CREEK CR SKEETER

...did a nice job on the flyer...he had a great line on the second bird but stopped short and had to hunt...he finished with an excellent blind.

 


8. AFC FARGO'S ECHO

...had a hunt on the flyer, started to the right on the second bird, stopped, went through the cover by the gunners and to the bird. He finished with a completed blind.

As the sun begins to descend, the end of the blind is beginning to be very difficult to see....causing some visual issues.

Do note, #34 FC-AFC Atlasta Winner and Martha Blank is the only dog that jumped the mound, on line to the blind...thus far.

 


7. AFC TEXACO’S HIGH TESSE



...had a big hunt on the flyer...on her way to the second bird, she went to the right side of the mound, up the back side, around to where the gunners were and out to the bird...and finished with a nice blind.

Sorry for the late addition of the (unofficial) sketch...here it is...also, for those looking for overhead, satellite diagrams of the tests, we researched and found that the images taken over this property are dated, and when zooming in for an effective visual aid, the property is blurry and without worth. Google Maps and the various apps associated with it are fantastic tools that could be used with great success in this situation, if they were up-to-date. Thanks for your understanding.

5. FC-AFC RIVERRUN’S TRUE NORTH

...had a long, behind the mound flyer and did a very nice job. On the second bird, he stayed to the right to the end of the cover, back by the gunners and out to the bird. He had an exceptional blind with three whistles at the end.

4. FC-AFC REBEL RIDGE'S DEVILS LUCK MH


...the flyer was good...she took a really good line to the second bird, by the guns, but back out and to the bird...excellent four whistle blind..

3. SQUEEZE PLAY II

...did a nice job on the flyer...on the second bird, he went right down to the mound with a hunt by the gunners and over to the bird, he capped off his run with a really nice blind.

 


2. AFC CAMINO GO FOR THE PIN

...hunted both short and long on the flyer, but found it. On the second bird, it went down the right side, back up the left and straight to the bird...and on the blind they did a good job.

 


1. AFC PATTON’S MOBY NICK

116. FC-AFC SML STELLA'S GOT HER GROOVE



...went long on the flyer, made a sharp turn and made directly toward the bird. On the left bird, she took a great line, faded with the wind to the gunners but came back out nicely to the bird. Ended with a good blind.

 


115. FC-AFC SURESHOT'S TKO



...had a short hunt on the flyer, took a great line and did a good job on the left-hand bird and finished with a nice three-whistle blind

 


114. FC-AFC MERCY MERCY MERCY ME

This was a super long flyer, she came from the back side and did a very nice job. On the second bird she kept to the right-hand side to the end and worked quickly back up the other side, and back to the bird. She finished with a spectacular, one-whistle blind.

 


113. NFC-AFC CANDLEWOOD'S SOMETHING ROYAL



...had a perfect set of marks and a beautiful two-whistle blind.

 


112. FC PINEHURST’S ALL THAT JAZZ



...did a great job on the flyer. On the second bird, he went to the right and deep but came back up the field and got the bird, and finished up by running a beautiful blind with only two whistles at the end.

 


111. LIL MISS KARIZZMA



...she did a good job on the flyer. For the the second bird, she went down the right hand side to the mound, came back to the gunners and worked her way back out to the bird. She had a tough time on the blind but completed it.

 


110. AFC ROCKLIFFS JUSTDOIT



This was a dog that was excited for a flyer, it was basically all he wanted to watch. He went down the backside, cut through the cover, by the guns, and then went out to the bird. He finished with a very fast four whistle blind.

 


109. PADDLE CREEK'S PACK YOUR GRIP, LM



He did a nice job on the flyer. Went down the back side of the gun, around the end, and hunted up the bird. He ran an extremely fast, two whistle, fantastic blind.

 


102. TONKAH ZEE OOMAH



Re-run from a no-bird...did a very nice job on the flyer. On the second he went to the correct side but went to the end and had to work his way back. He had an outstanding three-whistle blind.

 


108. FC-AFC L AND L JUST A GIGOLO

...had a very nice flyer. On the second bird, he was on the correct side of the guns but got deep, then he got into the trees and had to work his way back out to the bird. He completed the blind.

 


107. FC-AFC TEQUILLA'S HOT TAMALE

...the flyer was very long, she hunted a bit on the left but came around and got it quickly. On the second bird she was right about in line to the end of cover then came back up the field to the bird. The blind was excellent.

 


106. CASTLEBAY’S VAM PYRE



...did a nice job on the flyer...on the second bird he stayed right of the mound and went up it before coming back to get the bird. He completed the test by doing a nice job on the blind.

 


As the afternoon moves along...

...the sun remains high in the sky, sweeping toward the western skyline. The wind has not subsided, it remains steady keeping the flies from finding a clear landing zone. Excitement levels are still very high, although exhaustion is beginning to show in some...it has been quite a day. Temperatures remain comfortable and the clouds have retreated leaving behind a clear ocean of blue sky.

 


105. FC GREENWING TALL TIMBER



...on the flyer, he had a small hunt, but got it...the second bird, he stayed right, cut through the cover and got the bird - and completed the blind.

104. FC-AFC LANES LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE

...had a short hunt in front of the gunners on the flyer, then went right to the bird and picked it up. Excellent mark on the second bird and an excellent blind even though the dog seems to be having trouble seeing the handler.

 


103. FC-AFC LAND AHOY



...had a very nice flyer. He went right of the gunners to the mound, back up to the bird with a small hunt and ended with an excellent blind.

 


102. TONKAH ZEE OOMAH

No-bird...this dog will return after 6 dogs.

 


101. FC-AFC CITORI'S VISTA 40TH PRES

Had a perfect mark on the flyer, had an excellent and mark on the second bird and a nice job on the flyer.

The contestants are going to the line to view the test before the next group of 20.

The winds have gotten stronger, and as the afternoon progresses the blind is getting deeper and deeper in into the shade.

Now, a gun change...

 


100. FC-AFC-CFC-CAFC ADAMS ACRES MUDDY CREEK



...he made quick work of the flyer with a very nice job, he stayed right on the second bird and went deep, back to the guns, and then to the bird...and finished with a wonderful blind.

 


99. FC-AFC HARDSCRABBLE ROXIE MCBUNN

Great job on the flyer. On the second bird, she went to the correct side of the gun but went to the mound and came back to get the bird. She finished with a fantastic blind, three-whistles...

 


98. AFC CANDLEWOODS COMMANDER AND CHIEF



...the flyer landed up on the mound and it was a good mark by the dog. On the second bird, he went to the gunners then right out to the bird. And he finished with a beautiful three-whistle blind.

 


97. FC-AFC CASTLEBAY'S NIGHT ROBBER

...had a small loop behind the mound, came around to pick up the flyer, simply smacked the second bird, then, had a pop, but completed the blind.

96. FC KNOLLWOOD SWEET LILY

...the flyer was very long, still alive and the dog did an excellent job. She also did a great job on the second bird with an outstanding blind.

 


95. FC-AFC CUDA'S NEGRA MODELO MH

...went straight to the flyer and pinned it, came in from the right-hand side for the second bird but turned and got it and finished with an excellent blind.

94. AFC WRS BUGS BLACK MIST

...she did a nice job on a very long flyer picking the bird up on the back of the mound, she had an excellent second bird and a nice blind.

93. FC-AFC FAT CITY PACER



...showed us how it was done with two excellent marks and a very good blind.

 


92. CNAFC-CFC MJOLNIR BLUEBILL OF ALLANPORT

...had a loop close to the guns on the flyer, before getting the bird - he went right of the guns on the second bird but came back and got it nicely, and completed the blind despite having trouble seeing the handler in the bright light.

91. FC-AFC LANDOVER GOLDENDAZE YUKON



...did a good job on the flyer, did a very nice job on the left-hand bird and had an excellent blind.

...had a very nice job on all three birds...

 


89. AFC SKYWATCH COWBOY

...had a very long flyer which prompted a small hunt, then a short hunt on the left hand bird and finally a very nice blind.

 


Current conditions:

It is a sunny, 79 degrees. Winds continue out of the southwest at 10 mph with moderate gusts and precipitation looks to be off our radar for the remainder of the day. Although, you never know this time of year in the Midwest...

 


82. FC-AFC EVA ETHYL PROBY-WEBER

No-bird re-run: the flyer was very good, she made one small loop then picked up the left-hand bird and finished with a fantastic blind.

...had a hunt on the flyer, a very nice left-hand mark and an excellent blind.

 


87. AFC PRAIRIE PEAK’S GIRLFRIEND

she had a hunt on the flyer, she did okay on the left-hand bird and completed the blind quite well.

86. FC-AFC HILLTOP’S HIGH SOCIETY

...the flyer was okay, she went to the end of the blind on the right side, rounded the corner and came back to get the left-hand bird and ended with a very nice blind.

 


85. FC-AFC WING MAGIC'S LOUISIANA ROUX MH

...had a small hunt on the flyer, he hunted short before getting the left-hand bird...he completed the blind with difficulty at the end due to the sun moving behind the handlers - it is now hard to see. Visibility may become more of an issue, but it was definitely an issue in this last run.

 


84. SALTY PAWS SEALED WITH A KISS

....had a small hunt on the flyer, she had a hard hunt behind the guns before returning to the area and picking up the left-hand bird and ended her run with a pretty nice blind.

 


83. FC-AFC ROCKY CREEK'S FULL TILT BOOGIE

...flyer was good, went to the right out to the mound came back and got the left-hand bird, and had a very nice blind.

...received a no-bird. She will run again in 6 dogs.

 


81. AFC WINDY CITY’S SPRINGTIME

...had a good flyer, the left-hand bird was very nice and had an outstanding blind.

After this dog completes it's run, we will have a gun change.

 


80. FC-AFC HENNINGER'S SLICK N READY

 ...the flyer was excellent; the left-hand bird came in on the correct side of the gun and made his way to the bird...he finished with a nice blind.

 


78. AFC PATTONS BLAZEN ABBY MH



...the flyer was excellent, they went right at the holding blind, to a mound, turned and came back to get the left-hand bird and finished by completing the blind.

 


77. FC-AFC CANDLEWOODS LIFE IS A HIGHWAY



...had a very nice flyer, went to the right of the blind on the left-hand bird, rounded the end and went straight to the bird...he has completed the blind.

 


76. RMR'S I HAVE A DREAM

The flyer was okay, he hunted the blind area on the left-hand bird before working his way to the bird. On the blind he had some rough work, but got the blind.

The wind is picking up, gusting from the left up to and around 20 mph.
