4th Series - Double Dry Pop Water Blind

The blind as seen from the "Second Mowed Line"
Close-up of the blind planter
The 4th Series water blind is a double dry pop, 305 yard blind. The first two shots resound in this low valley. The line to the blind takes you to the left of hay bale and right of a piece of water. You proceed and stay left of the next hay bale and into a piece of water. there is a swim of aprox. 15-20 yards. They exit the water and go between two tree goal post, aprox. 6-7 yards apart. From this point they proceed aprox. 120 yards across a field to a small bush.

Instructions from the judges to move up to the left when they pass the first hay bale and proceed 10-15 feet further to a mowed strip when they pass a second hay bale.

Hail update...

From earlier: "Unconfirmed reports that a pro dog truck had its windshield smashed by hail from this storm. Safety first, people. When there's hail it's best to stay inside your vehicle, or better yet, indoors."

It's amazing how embellished stories can be made in such short period of time. The windshield was not smashed, it has a small, two-inch crack. BUT, apparently there was a motorcyclist in front of the truck who did not have a helmet on and the hail smashed his glasses and caused bleeding from his head. Word is that all parties involved are doing okay.

35. AFC FARGO'S TEXAS LEXUS, LF, Wayne Stupka

31. FC-AFC DIXIE CITY JAM II, LM, Bill Goldstein

...he did a nice job on the flyer. On the right retired, he ran past the island but turned and came right back. On the middle, retired bird, he swam on the left side of the islands, got on the third island and picked up the bird immediately.

30. AFC SKYWATCH BRONCO, LM, Lou Vreeland

...did a nice job on the flyer. On the way to the right-hand bird he took both pieces of the water to holding blind down to the bird. Handled on the middle bird.

Stats!

Through 80 dogs, there have been 32 handles (that's 40%) as we continue on...
This includes 6 double handles, 3 pick-ups and 1 break.

24. AFC DUCKBLIND'S REAL MCCOY, LF, Cheryl Richardson

...had a nice flyer, on the right retried he caught every piece of water with a good mark. For the long memory he took off just to the left of the right-hand island, went high and very deep. Finally, he worked his way back and got the bird.

I always do what bumper stickers say...

Alanson Brown III

27. YAKITY’S SHAKE RATTLE ‘N’ ROLL, CF, Gary Zellner

Weather...

Temps have cooled as the storm front passed. The rain is just now tapering off to a drizzle. Bright skies are visible to the west as the winds remain stiff out of the south/southwest, but they seem to be softening. The radar shows some very random showers out to the west, but I doubt we will see much of anything.
